About this battery
Sealed battery for the YB4L-B battery compartment: it never needs topping up and has no vent tube.
The original YB4L-B is a conventional flooded battery. A sealed battery replaces it without maintenance, provided the motorcycle's voltage regulator charges between 14.0 and 14.8 V (measure at the terminals with the engine running at 3000–4000 rpm). For older motorcycles that charge below this range, stick with a conventional flooded battery.
It is slightly smaller than the original battery part number in length (8 mm shorter) and height (7 mm shorter): it fits in the compartment, and you can use a foam block to fill the gap and stop it moving. Check that the cables reach the terminals.
Use a smart motorcycle battery charger to charge it: the recommended current is around 0.3 A (capacity divided by 10), and never more than 3 A.
