About this battery

This is a direct replacement for the YB12AL-A2: the same voltage, polarity and battery case. It leaves the factory with the electrolyte inside and charged, so there is no acid pack to fit or waiting around: check the voltage and fit it.

The original YB12AL-A2 is a conventional flooded battery. A sealed battery can replace it without maintenance, provided the motorcycle’s regulator/rectifier charges between 14.0 and 14.8 V (measure at the terminals with the engine running at 3000–4000 rpm). For older motorcycles that charge below this range, stick with a conventional battery.

Use a smart motorcycle charger: the recommended charge current is about 1.2 A (capacity divided by 10), and never more than 3 A.
