About this battery

This is a direct replacement for the YB9-B, with the same voltage, polarity and case dimensions. It leaves the factory with the electrolyte inside and charged, so there’s no acid pack to fit or waiting required: check the voltage and install it.

The original YB9-B is a conventional flooded battery. A sealed battery can replace it without maintenance, provided the motorcycle’s voltage regulator/rectifier charges between 14.0 and 14.8 V (measure at the terminals with the engine running at 3000–4000 rpm). If an older motorcycle charges below this range, stick with a conventional battery.

Use a smart motorcycle charger: the recommended charge current is about 0.9 A (capacity divided by 10), and never more than 3 A.
