About this battery

Sealed battery for the YB7-A battery compartment: it never needs topping up and has no vent tube.

The original YB7-A is a conventional flooded battery. A sealed battery replaces it without maintenance, on one condition: the motorcycle's voltage regulator / rectifier must charge between 14.0 and 14.8 V (measure at the terminals with the engine running at 3000–4000 rpm). For older motorcycles that charge below this range, stick with a conventional battery.

It is slightly shorter than the original battery part number (10 mm less in height): it fits in the compartment, and you can use a foam block to fill the gap and stop it moving around. Check that the cables reach the terminals.

Use a smart motorcycle battery charger: the recommended current is around 0.7 A (capacity divided by 10), and never more than 3 A.
