Why this adapter

If you have a BMW or MINI and want to use BimmerCode (enable or change features) or BimmerLink (fault codes and live data), this is the adapter to look at: BimmerCode lists it among its supported adapters for iPhone and Android.

It is Bluetooth 4.0, so it works with iPhone, Android and Windows (on iPhone you connect from the app, not from Settings). With BimmerCode on iPhone, E-series cars from before 2008 are not supported; on Android they are. It also works with general apps such as Car Scanner or OBD Fusion on any OBD2 car.

Before coding

Changing a module's configuration is a write: back up from the app first and connect a battery charger if the session will be long.
