The YTX14-BS battery part number column contains details from Yuasa, the brand behind the code; the other column gives the details for the battery sold by Satkit. Capacity should always be compared using the same hour rate, and starting current using the same standard.
What YTX14-BS means
- Y: Yuasa, which created the naming system. Other manufacturers change only this letter (GS uses GTX, Exide uses ETX and BS Battery uses BTX), keeping the rest of the code the same.
- TX: the maintenance-free AGM series.
- 14: a size and power index, not the amp-hour capacity: the YTX14-BS has a capacity of 12 Ah at the 10-hour rate.
- -BS: the original battery is supplied dry with an acid bottle (bottle supplied), to be filled before fitting.
