The 125 cc Yamahas and scooters listed on the product page (Euro 4 models, about 2017-2018 on) have a small 3-pin diagnostic socket. This cable turns it into a 16-pin OBD2 socket so you can plug in a CAN-capable adapter, such as an ELM327.
With a general OBD2 app (Car Scanner, Torque) you can read and clear engine fault codes and see live data, if your model's ECU offers them over OBD2. Some older Yamahas use a different 4-pin socket.
