Customer Questions & Answers
What electrical applications is this adhesive copper tape recommended for?
This tape is ideal for electromagnetic shielding (EMI/RFI), creating conductive paths in electronics, grounding in electrical installations and repairing printed circuit boards. Its conductive adhesive makes electrical connection between metal surfaces easier. It is not suitable for carrying high currents or for structural applications.
What type of adhesive does the tape use and what is its maximum thermal resistance?
The tape uses a conductive acrylic adhesive that withstands temperatures of up to approximately 80°C continuously and brief peaks of 100°C. Above these values, the adhesive may lose adhesion or conductive properties.
Can this copper tape be used outdoors or in prolonged damp environments?
Exposed copper can oxidise and corrode in damp or outdoor environments, affecting conductivity and durability. Indoor use is preferable. If exposure is required, it is recommended to coat or insulate the tape.
Is it compatible with conventional soldering for joining cables or components?
Yes, the copper foil (0.05 mm thick) is compatible with low-temperature soldering (tin-lead or equivalent). However, the adhesive may produce fumes and make soldering more difficult if it is not removed from the soldering area beforehand.
What technical differences are there compared with adhesive aluminium tapes?
Copper tapes offer better electrical conductivity (~5.8×10^7 S/m) than aluminium tapes (~3.8×10^7 S/m). Copper is easier to solder and is more effective for EMI. Aluminium is cheaper but less suitable for stable electrical connections or where solderability is key.
What is the thickness of the adhesive copper tape?
The tape thickness is 0.05 mm.
What is this adhesive copper tape used for?
It is mainly used for soldering, electronic repairs and shielding against electromagnetic interference.
Is the product currently available?
The product is currently out of stock. You can check alternatives or contact customer service for more information.
What width is the tape?
The tape is 50 mm wide.
How long is the roll?
The roll is 20 metres long.
