The Shield is made from fibreglass PCB (FR4), nickel-plated brass male pins and lead-free solder. Its dimensions are approximately 102 mm x 53 mm x 16 mm and it weighs around 35 g. The box generally includes only the Sensor Shield board; cables and sensors must be purchased separately.

What are the operating current limits per pin and the precautions to avoid damaging the Shield?

Each pin supports up to 40 mA (limited by the Arduino Mega microcontroller, not by the Shield). It is recommended not to exceed a total of 200 mA per GND or VCC pin group to avoid overheating or damage. The Shield does not provide internal short-circuit protection.
