What battery does my UPS need and how often should it be replaced?

Most home and small office UPS units (APC, Salicru, Eaton) use 12V 7Ah or 12V 9Ah AGM lead-acid batteries with F1 (4.8mm) or F2 (6.3mm) faston terminals. Typical lifespan is 3-5 years. You should replace the battery when the UPS beeps a low battery warning or cannot hold charge for more than a few seconds. Verify the voltage, amp-hour rating, and terminal type of your original battery before ordering the replacement.
