What type of cassette tapes does the Ezcap 230 support, and are there any limitations on recording length?
The Ezcap 230 is compatible with standard audio cassettes (Normal and CrO2, Type I and II, 4.75 mm wide). It is not designed for metal tapes. Recording length is limited only by the capacity of the inserted cassette and the connected USB flash drive, typically up to 90 minutes per side and as many MP3 files as the storage allows.
What formats and bitrates does it produce when recording, and what is the audio quality compared with digitising via a sound card?
It produces MP3 files, normally at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. The quality is functional for home use and basic preservation, but there may be a loss of fidelity compared with digitisation using professional audio interfaces at a higher bitrate. It does not support WAV or FLAC.
