What power and connectivity requirements does the Bridge need to operate correctly?
The device requires a 5 V DC supply (Micro-USB, typical consumption <1 W). To operate and configure it, a 2.4 GHz WiFi b/g/n network is needed. It does not support 5 GHz WiFi. A smartphone with iOS (minimum version 9.0) or Android (minimum version 4.1) is required to use the eWeLink app.
Are there any limitations in range or interference when receiving RF signals?
The typical indoor reception range for 433 MHz is 15-35 metres, depending on walls and obstacles, and up to 50 metres in open spaces. The presence of metal, thick walls or devices transmitting on similar frequencies can reduce the effective range. It is not recommended for controllers outside the same building.
What happens if alternative firmware is installed or a part of the device is damaged — can it be repaired easily?
Installing alternative firmware (such as Tasmota) voids the original warranty and requires advanced electronics knowledge (use of serial pins, soldering). If the microcontroller is damaged, repair is not guaranteed by the manufacturer and unofficial spare parts may not be readily available. For standard use, it is recommended to keep the original firmware.
